What Size Should I Order?
Common Questions
How do I know the correct size for my horse?
Each sized bag is determined by horse weight, as that is the best indicator of the size and amount of manure they excrete. The Service Mini is our smallest bag, with a half gallon capacity, while our Draft Horse sized bag is our largest with a 5-7 gallon capacity. If your horse is on the line between sizes, consider how often you can dump the bag as the smaller sized bag tend to look nicer under the tail. Please click on each item photo to see size and detailed descriptions of the bag and the attachment.
What is the difference between Mini and "Service" Mini?
"Service" is our smallest sized bag, typically used by horses under 100 pounds. If your horse is on the line between weight and size, consider how often they poop and how long the bag will be on them between dumps. Generally a smaller bag looks nicer under the tail than a larger bag.
How does the Bareback Attachment work?
The bareback attachment is a surcingle belly band that has velcro adjustments, with a V strap and clip which connect to the bag. The attachment fits easily under therapy vests, saddle, bareback blanket, packsaddle. We offer 4 sizes, our smallest, service mini, regular mini, the FAT BOY and the bareback saddlehorse attachment. measure your horses heart girth (behind the front legs) for the best fit.
What is the difference between a "Commercial" Draft Horse and a Draft Horse Bag?
The Commercial bag is our latest design, exchanging the hard plastic buckles, slides and D rings with nickel plated steel for a stronger hold. The nickel plated steel hardware hold up better in extreme heat and extreme cold. The commercial bag is double french seam sewn for extra strength ,1 inch nylon webbing and riveted at the pressure points. (great for our heavy commercial full time users) Our regular Draft horse bag has 3/4 inch nylon webbing ,plastic slides ,quick releases, and D rings great for the weekenders.
Is an attachment required?
Our bags come complete with all the straps and hardware needed to attach to horse under harness and standard pack saddle.
If you are leading your horse into a facility or at an event, or require use of a therapy tank,or treadmill,or just want to keep your horse trailer or stalls cleaner you will need a Bareback Attachment. (to attach the bag to a bareback horse)
For riding on the beach or in the city, with a saddle, a Riding Saddle Attachment is required. (to attach the bag to)
Will the Bun Bag work for other animal species? (Goat, Sheep, Cow)
Our unique design relies on the horse's tail lifting to open the bag in order to catch the poop. If your animal tends to lift their tail prior to pooping, the bag can operate effectively.
Can the Bun Bag be used with an English Saddle?
As an English saddle does not have the typical D-Ring a western saddle does, we recommend attaching the Riding Saddle Attachment to the front D-Ring, by sliding the strap under the stirrup. If your animal is long or you are concerned about the length of straping, reach out to us via email for extension straps.

Problems & Solutions
What happens if a mare urinates in the bag?
Put a disposable baby diaper in the bottom of the bag or a small shovelful of sawdust. And dump as soon as possible. Our manure bags are a sewn product and is not 100% leek proof, disposable baby diapers are Fantastic for absorbing any moisture.(we recomend the nightime ones)
My docked-tail horse lifts the tail too high, pulling the bag away from the body and missing the bag altogether.
Put two round, pool-ball-sized rocks in the bag to equal the weight of one dump.
My horse lifts the tail to one side or the other, pulling the bag out of alignment, and the manure misses the bag.
Tighten the anti-swing strap on the opposite side of pull to hold the bag on center.
TIP: Adding 2 drops of Ivory Liquid to the wash water makes the bag smell fresh.
Be sure to secure your bags when traveling,(many blow out of the backs of trucks and trailers)
Always try to wash and dry the bags after use.
Avoid storing them in extreme hot or cold enviroments.
